Essential lifesaving training for those coaching or supporting open water swimming. Lifesaving training covering first aid, CPR and rescue skills, tailored for the open water environment, written by the experts at the STA and delivered by The Swim Surgery's team.

Whatever your role in and around open water, it enables the holder to initiate the Emergency Action Plan, respond to an emergency and support the casualty to prevent the situation from worsening until further assistance arrives.

From this course you will gain confidence and competency in:

- Understand the effects of cold water immersion including cold water shock

-Basic rescues in open water including spinals

 -CPR including AED training

-First aid including fracture/dislocation, extreme heat, extreme cold, insect bites and marine stings

-Best practice guidance and risk assessments

Come and join us in our virtual interactive classroom to kick off your course as we walk you  through the theory side of the course ready for the practical. The theory is on 7th September on zoom.

Then come to beautiful Hayling Island, a blue flag beach popular with swimmers, for an exciting day of practical to complete your course.

Our one-day practical on 28th September (best time of the year for warm Solent sea temp) is more than completion of your course- this is an experience day where you will complete CPR training but also have plenty of opportunity to experience the water including the rescue skills, make like-minded friends from around the UK, have a BBQ and hot drinks provided throughout. Plenty of pictures are taken throughout the day, including from our professional drone - all of which will be shared with you.
