STA Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming will qualify you to teach non- swimmers, beginners and improvers.
This Ofqual regulated qualification is the first step in your swimming teaching career and on successful completion of the course you will be able to teach your very own class of 12 participants independently. This course can lead straight to paid employment teaching adults or children.
NEW since 2023 STA have revamped and redesigned the STA Level 2 Award meaning its bigger, better and gives you more scope to teach at swim schools of all sizes and now carries the endorsement to CIMSPA Professional Standards. As a result this course is now beefier in content and teaching practical.

Your tutor Kelly Illingworth will train and support you through this course, passing on their vast experience in teaching.

Theory online zoom - 9th, 11th, 15th, 16th, 18th, 20th, 23rd, 25th and 27th September
7-9.30pm
Practical - 28th and 29th September in the afternoon (times to be confirmed)
Course will be held at St Lawrence School,(near Burgess Hill), Trinity Rd, Hurstpierpoint , Hassocks, BN6 9UY
Monday 30th September - log onto our Cirrus system to take your theory exam from the comfort of your own home. Your exam is online using our CIRRUS system anytime. Log on for 65mins at a time to suit you. Please contact us if this is inconvenient.

Access to learning
To take part in this course you will need access to the following:
- Computer, laptop, tablet or phone for viewing and editing documents (word or pdf).
- Computer, laptop, tablet or phone for accessing google classroom
- Pen, paper, notepad as needed.
- A computer, laptop, tablet or phone with functioning mic and camera to join Zoom for theory and access your e-manual along with Nearpod and our interactive games (no prior download needed).
- Access to the practical face to face bringing swim costume, shorts and t-shirt to wear in the pool.
- A computer or laptop to access your CIRRUS exam via Chrome. This CANNOT be done on a phone or tablet. If you can not access CIRRUS it may be possible to take a paper exam. Please contact us to discuss.
