STA Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Swimming will qualify you to teach advanced swimmers and school swimming.
This Ofqual regulated qualification will progress your teaching career and expand your expertise to teach competitive strokes, survival and rescue skills, diving, competitive starts and turns; allowing you to teach non-swimmers through to advanced participants.
This course can lead straight to paid employment teaching adults or children and meets CIMSPA’s employer-led swimming teacher professional standard.
Come and join us in our virtual interactive classroom to kick off your course as we walk you through the theory side of the course on Mon 3rd, Wed 5th, Fri 7th, Tues 11th, Thurs 13th February 2025 with theory sessions ready for the practical to follow. Your course practical is then booked for the 23rd February at Great Walsted School, E Mascalls Ln, Lindfield RH16 2QL

24th February - log onto our Cirrus system to take your theory exam from the comfort of your own home. Your exam is online using our CIRRUS system anytime. Log on for 30minutes at a time to suit you. Please contact us if this is inconvenient.

Assessment on this qualification includes the following:

Meeting the contact hours by attending all the dates and times

Completion of a multi choice theory exam

Completion of practical teaching a range of lessons to participants including a final 30minute external assessment.

Work product completion in the form of a portfolio made up of the following:
-4 lesson plans
-2 schemes of work
-1 evaluation
To access this course you will need the following:

A computer, laptop, tablet or phone with a functioning mic and camera to join Zoom for theory and access your e-manual along with Nearpod and our interactive games (no prior download needed).

A computer, laptop, tablet or phone, and gmail account to access the google classroom where all pre course paperwork and comms will take place.

A computer, laptop, tablet or phone for completing work products via pdf or word. This will be writing and editing documents.

Access to the practical face to face bringing swim costume, shorts and t-shirt to wear in the pool plus appropriate teaching wear for poolside.

A computer or laptop to access your CIRRUS exam via Chrome. This CANNOT be done on a phone or tablet. If you can not access CIRRUS it may be possible to take a paper exam. Please contact us to discuss.

-Be at least 16 years of age.
-Hold the STA Award in Teaching Swimming qualification or acceptable equivalent (please note the Swim England SEQ Level 1 is not an acceptable pre-requisite)
