STA Level 3 Pool Plant Operator is the highest level of training available for those who are responsible for the management and maintenance of swimming pools, spas and interactive water features.
This Ofqual regulated qualification is three day course and reflects the most up-to-date requirements and standards for pool plant operations, with a robust syllabus which covers all aspects that are vital to running a wet leisure facility and maintaining healthy and hygienic water including: water testing, disinfection, pool water chemistry, dosing, mechanical operations, heating, energy efficiency, management practices, health & safety and more!
This qualification also meets CIMSPA’s employer-led pool plant operative professional standard.
- It qualifies you as the responsible person for pool plant management and maintenance at your wet leisure site.
This qualification is for people who have a specific responsibility for pool plant operations, maintaining plant rooms, ensuring safe bather conditions and water testing. Some examples of sites where this qualification is required include: • Swimming Pools • Sports and Leisure Centres • Health Clubs • Spas (Including those displayed in retail outlets / distributors / installers) • Hotels • Holiday Parks • Hydrotherapy Pools • Schools • Parks • Lidos • Interactive Water Features • Swim Schools.

Theory Date - 2nd, 3rd and 4th November
Theory Time - 9am - 5pm

11th November -Your Cirrus theory exam will be available on this date from 7.30am - log onto our Cirrus system to take your theory exam from the comfort of your own home. Your exam is online using our CIRRUS system . Log on for 30 minutes at a time to suit you until the clock strikes midnight! At that time you wont turn into a pumpkin but the exam will shut. Please contact us if this is inconvenient.
11th November-To pass this qualification you are required to submit a video where you demonstrate conducting a pool water test following what you have learnt on the course. This must be submitted by this date. Please see below to read carefully what you need to access this course.
Assessment
Assessment on this qualification includes the following:

Meeting the contact hours by attending all the dates and times

Completion of a multi choice theory exam

Practical pool testing video of yourself performing a series of pool water tests

Completion of a pool water testing record demonstrating your ability to record the results from your pool testing video
Pre-requsities
-Be at least 16 years of age.

To access this course you will need the following:
A computer, laptop, tablet or phone with functioning mic and camera to join Zoom for theory and access your e-manual along with Nearpod and our interactive games (no prior download needed).

A computer, laptop, tablet or phone, and gmail account to access the google classroom where all pre course paperwork and comms will take place.

A computer or laptop to access your CIRRUS exam via Chrome. This CANNOT be done on a phone or tablet. If you can not access CIRRUS it may be possible to take a paper exam. Please contact us to discuss.

A computer, laptop, tablet or phone to access your e-manual for viewing and editing documents (word or pdf).

Pen, paper, notepad as needed.

Access to a swimming pool and access to basic pool water testing kit and water including DPD 1, DPD 3 and phenol red tablets.
